Livejournal's being a bastard, so I'm putting this here until it's back up.  Could be days, could be hours.  Who knows?
This is a revolting development, eh?  First update of 2005 is halfway through January.  I swear, I just need someone to smack me into updating once a week.
Hmmm, I dont remember anything of special import happening in the last two weeks, so I'll ignore them and talk about what's preoccupying me around now.  Number one is, of course, Newspaper.  The Single Worst Class In Existence.  And now, to launch into common furious rage.
Issue 1: C on my semester exam.  My semester exam was to write two articles for the December edition of the paper.  Just like our monthly tests.  I apparantly did well enough to earn the HEADLINE, so I honestly do not understand how I could earn a C.  A C for a headline story!
Issue 2: Time Management.  For this class, I have to interview about three people per article, then write the whole article about them.  To do this, I have about five class days, which is about two weeks.  Two weeks doesn't seem too bad until you consider I also have to research, choose pictures, have my story edited and revised, and spout helpful trivia to the surrounding classmates.  This added to the necessity of finding out where my victim's classes are, pointlessly filling out interview slips that will be ignored, and then eventually finding the actual classroom and dragging them to the newspaper room to interview.  This ties in with another issue.
Issue 3: Availability.  Most of the people I should talk to are seniors, and seniors have the remarkably irritating ability to skip 8th period instead of being in school with the rest of us.  That means finding them at lunch, before school, or at their practices.  Even without seniors, a remarkable percentage of my interviewees have tests on the days I need to talk to them.
Issue 4: Skills.  I'm not an exceptional journalist.  I don't have a fancy hat with a "Press" card in it, or a special notebook to frighten and awe people with (read The Truth for more about that).  I don't even have the correct attitude to force my way into a crowd and say, "I need to talk to you, ma'am, for the newspaper.  Please come thisd way."  And I sure as hell can't write a news article.  It's not how I'm wired.

That's enough about that.  Onto less-picked-over subjects.  For example, I have four projects to do over the weekend.  I got a World History timeline which shouldn't be too hard, seeing as I already did all the research for it.  I got a story to write for creative writing, about a guy and his buddies who desert the army after finding war crimes not to their taste.  I have an island to make for Geography, which I should accomplish in about 90 minutes.  Then I've got a poster to make which compares a cell to a human body in every particular.  (This is for Biology, by the way).  Mellie will be helping me a great deal with that, her being sort of a biology expert in this house.

MAO!!!  I'm teaching people here to play Mao.  And I'm talking no-holds-barred, every rule Mao.  I may even throw in No Laughing, and I'll sure as hell enforce No Talking in the future.  Damn, I love Mao.

There was a girl's basketball game, so I went to see that.  It was pretty good, especially considering we were down 2-7 at one point, then won 51-45.  I have to say the best part was seeing Marissa, a girl about five feet tall, have a ball go right over her head.  Someone tried to pass and it missed and went right over her head.  I laughed and laughed.

I went to a dance tonight.  (Last night?  This evening?  Whatever).  It was pretty good.  Some friends, some good music, some excellent music, and lots of paper to wrap around myself.  A tradition for me now is to wrap streamers around my arms and head, a tradition I learned from Blue Man Group.  Oh, the dance also had Seth.  Seth is the life of the party.  Even if there's no party happening, he is somehow the life of the party.  We had some fun dancing in the the center of the pit.
What were the good songs, you ask?  Well, they were: Devils Dance Floor by Flogging Molly, Welcome to the Jungle by Guns n Roses, The Drinking Song by Dropkick Murphys, Message in a Bottle by The Police, Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-A-Lot, Hammertime by MC Hammer, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Thriller by Michael Jackson, and Shot Through the Heart by whoever sings that.  I'm missing some, but my memory isn't as good as it once was.
Also I got to dance with some of my very pretty friends, Kelly, Mariah, and Tamiya.  Got into some inside-joke type fights with Kelly, cause thats how things go.  I like having beautiful friends.

I ordered my class ring!  Scholastic achievement on one side, education symbol on the other, green sunburst gem in center.  Keith on one side, QAS and 2007 on the other, Woodland Park Panthers around the gem.  Silver-colored.  So sweet.
Also my fancy plastic laminated permit came today or yesterday.  I look like a smug bastard on it, because I am neither photogenic nor attractive when I smile.

Im gone,
Cuthroat Mcgee

I'ma changing my primary journal site to livejournal now.  I may pop back in to say something or whatever, but don't count on it.  I honestly cannot tell you why I am doing this.  I just am.  So, www.livejournal.com/users/cuthroatmcgee

Well.

It would seem that my Taco Bell job has fallen through, as they have not yet contacted me about an interview or employment.  So I may expect you, Faithful Readers, to help pay for a plane ticket next year.  But not too much; I have my own money, too.  Hopefully the tickets will be cheap, like last year when I came back here, when they were about 115 dollars roundtrip.  So I'll be back to see you again.  I'd like to see a lacrosse game, come to the school, and do altogether too much stuff considering the time I'll have available.  Oh well.  You can't have everything.

Yesterday I joined a writer's ...association (for lack of a better word) meeting at the Woodland Park Library.  I like it very much.  It is composed mainly of older people (I'd say at a guess between 40 and 80), but there are a few younger people.  One well-built man of around 30, a young woman in I'd guess late 20s, and a kid, younger than me, probably close to 12.  There was a guest speaker, a published author (a redundency) who had us find our dominant brain halves; I'm double dominant.  She also said a lot about the difficulty of having something published.  I am greatly pleased and will continue to attend for as long as I can, which may well be all year round.

This morning I helped my dad chop down some pine trees in our front yard.  They were dead from the pine beetles, so we cut them down and sectioned them up.  We have some wood to burn now, come winter, so that'll be good.

I'm sorry I ain't said much recently, but I've been preoccipied by Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.  Awesome game.  Turn-based strategy, where you control an entire nation and must build cities, slay infidels, and make money.  It's so good, it's what I'm going to do now.

I'm at one3 of my parent's friends's houses, and I don't feel like interacting with people, so I'm filling out this ridiculously long thing.  Also, I feel I owe you a little somrthing about myself.

So I'm here in Colorado now.  Still don't have internet at home.  Been playing Diablo and watching movies for a while.  Gotta apply for jobs soon.  Decided not to work at McDonald's after all.  Aim a little higher; Burger King, or Taco Bell.  Not McDonald's.

Went to the used bookstore yesterday.  Spent 17 dollars on books.  Night Shift and Skeleton Crew, by Stephen King, Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs, by Thomas Harris, and The Bourne Identity, by Robert Ludlum.  Have to mail last one to Erin.  Am talking like Rorschach.  Not good.

Talk to you all hopefully soon, when I get internet.  What a glorious day that shall be.

I'm here.  I got here on the evening of the 6th, so I've been here for 2 days.  ...sorta.
I just got an application to work at McDonald's, so I may soon have my first job ever.  Won't that be interesting?

I don't wanna say much because I have little to say and because I'm in the library right now.  When we get our internet hooked up again I'll be able to say a little more.
